The Colts are one of nine local arts groups to receive an operating support grant from the City of Dubuque Arts and Culture program, which is funded with $200,000 a year in the City of Dubuque's general operating budget. The Colts, along with two other agencies, received the maximum $40,000 this year. This is the 7th year the City of Dubuque has funded this program, and the 6th time the Colts have received funding. The maximum allocation to any given agency is $40,000. The allocation formula is decided by a volunteer Arts and Culture advisory commission, and is based on a combination of factors including the organization's contribution to Arts and Culture in Dubuque, the extent to which the organization supports the City's objectives, mission and vision for the future, the size of the organization's operating budget, the organizations' total economic impact and the professionalism and stability of the organization's governance and it's artistic and management excellence. The funds will be used to support the summer programming of the Colts, the Colt Cadets, the Colts Summer Band, plus the Colts two steel drum ensembles, PanrhythmiX and Pandemonium, and their school-year vocal program Vocal Fusion. A total of 345 young people now participate in one of six Colts programs.
