Hello Color Guard Auditonees!
Thank you for expressing interest in the 2013 Colts Color Guard! The season's color guard will include 32-40 young men and women, using flags, rifles, sabres and dance to visually interpret and enhance the show.
Below you will find information regarding various aspects of the upcoming auditon camps.
What to wear...
You will need to wear BLACK form fitting clothing. Clothing must allow maximum flexibility and your feet and ankles must be able to be seen. You will want tennis shoes or dance shoes for the rest of the day. Also, please do not have any loose jewelry, such as bracelets, necklaces, or rings. GIRLS, your hair must be pulled back. PLEASE bring layers of warm clothes because the Five Flags facility (Nov. & Jan. camps) can be chilly.
What to expect...
We will begin each day with a movement class. You will learn several across the floors, experience a basic technique block, and a short dance routine. For flag technique, make sure you are comfortable with basic exercises such as drop spins, peggy spins, cones, and pull hits/flips. Those interested in weapon (rifle or sabre) will need to bring their own if possible. Some will be provided, but not many. There will also be choreographed routines for equipment.
Most importantly, come with a great attitude and be ready to learn! This weekend should be an enjoyable experience, so relax and have fun. Remember that this is a PERFORMANCE activity and you must be able to perform FULL OUT.
